Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a new school or an addition to the school?

Eliot Arts Magnet would neither be a new school nor an addition to the existing school.  The arts magnet theme is an innovative way of teaching and learning that will integrate the arts in every subject as well as give students more opportunities to be involved in the arts through learning and collaborating with arts professionals and apply what they have learned through performances and art pieces.

What does it mean to be a magnet school?

A magnet school offers a special, enriched curriculum capable of attracting (hence the word magnet) students from across the attendance boundaries.  Eliot Arts Magnet integrates the arts theme inside and outside the classroom.

What is different from previous years?

  • An Arts Focus At Eliot Arts, students have access to music, dance, theater arts, and visual arts programs taught by professional artists and musicians.
