Facilities
Carl D. Roeder Auditorium
Eliot Arts Magnet's 800-seat auditorium has undergone a major modernization and is the venue for our many recitals and showcases as well as our annual spring musical.
For information about renting Eliot's facilities, please contact the Civic Center Permits Office.
In 2001, our auditorium was named for teacher emeritus Carl "Dave" Roeder. Mr. Roeder taught generations of students at Washington and Eliot Middle Schools as part of his forty years of service in public education. In that time, 1960 -2001, he never missed a days work! His instruction covered all the industrial arts, and he was Eliot's stage manager for nearly thirty years. Mr. Roeder was also a pioneering delegate in the formation of the United Teachers Union of Pasadena and after retirement continued to be an active officer in the Los Angeles County California Industrial and Technology Education Association. For these reasons, and more, he is recognized for his ongoing commitment to church, children, community and Eliot.
